Artist Statement — Khalilah Maryam
My artist pseudonym is Khalilah Maryam. I love to tell stories and so I believe that it is natural that I should be drawn to the arts, no matter the medium. Photography, painting, digital drawing, writing, design. All of them are ways to tell stories. The work that I produce is about sharing myself, my beliefs, my childhood, and my story. My hope is that even someone who has never met me would know me a little better and would in turn also learn something about themselves.
